Time spent on angling when not angling

RUDD

Recommended Posts

True to form, just at dusk yesterday I had a bite and when I struck I lost the whole rig - the mainline must have been lying over something sharp and it just sliced clean through it. Very frustrating. Luckily as I had plenty of spares I retackled quickly and recast with enough time left for one last bite.

Right at last knockings it came, a fish that didn't feel very big to start with but then woke up under the rod tip and suddenly felt rather serious, and turned out to be my second biggest perch of the season so far:

That half an hour tying up hooklengths and leger links certainly paid off :)

Thanks Ian, it was the biggest of the day, but only because one of Rich's coughed up a sizeable semi-digested fish (another perch by the look of it) just before it was weighed! Most rude behaviour :D
