Windows advice

my friend in work has just bought himself a new pc which was loaded with windows xp which he does not like.

he prefers me edition which he has on disk,the question is how does he get rid of xp and install me .any help please.

easily ,format the disk then reinstall ME ,BUT it may invalidate the guarantee and destroy the "recovery" part of the hard drive ,maybe a dual boot is preferable but it will still will make the "recovery "disk useless :( if he does decide to format make sure he gets all the drivers needed for the onboard hardware safely stored away before starting and ofcourse the required ME versions of software needed to run the hardware such as cd r`s etc :) and dont forget that startup disk :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yup... good advice, I cant understand why anyone would want to instal ME on their system, tis the worst version of windows made yet.

fasser - in all seriousness and in agreement with the last couple of posts

 

If your friend needs to ask about how to remove XP and install ME, he probably shouldn't be trying it.

 

If the new "look & feel" still feels awkward to him after a week or two (or if he just can't wait), XP settings can be changed so it will behave more like he is used to.

 

I suggest he get on to http://www.windowsbbs.com/ and post his wants/needs/problems in the XP section there. Lots of good advice available.
