Mick Brown's Surprise Catch

Anglers' Net

What a waste of a perfectly good Eel. He should have got that Eel out quick as it may have survived. These anglers who lure have just wiped out what could be a 30 year old Eel!

I'm pretty certain the eel was already long dead and was regurgitated by the pike when it took Micks lure.

That shows about as much logic as the Grand Old Duke of York - the eel was a goner well before ANY angler got neat that pike :wallbash:

Whats wrong with the Duke?

He was only looking for a pub in Ipswich.

See Www.ipswichsocietry.org newsletter183.

My Grandad told me the story of The Grand Old Duke years ago.

The Duke marched them up and down that hill in Ipswich looking for a pub.

It's most certainly dead, Josh.

It clearly looks as if it's been partially digested. I'm pretty sure Mick would have said if he thought he foul hooked the eel I imagine it fights a heck of a lot differently than a pike. Plus on another forum he said the smell was unbearable. so yeah, Dead.
