netscape fonts

can anyone tell me the default netscape fonts (under "edit"..."preferences"...."appearence"...."fonts" as i keep coming across (especially this one) web sites where the page fonts are not as normal :( i played with my fonts to no avail but stupidly on the font adjusting box there isnt a "default" button

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

 

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Since it seems that no one has a clue on this problem, you might want to try posting it to the Netscape section of www.windowsbbs.com

I have stopped development that supports Netscape as its usage is dwindling, was a hard decision to do since I kind of have a soft spot for it from what IE did for it.

 

But it was just becoming more and more time consuming adding additional HTML and JavaScript to do even simplest of tasks, and since I have moved to .NET based development I've totally dropped supporting Netscape (sadly).

 

It's a shame - hopefully a new version will come out at some point that is 100% compliant with IE, but with even more features and power - teach Microsoft how to do it "again".

 

Must be something about the fonts in Netscape and possibly Web Development forums.

it seems a shame Netscape isnt used more ,its a darn sight faster than I.E. and certainly less open to attack from baddies ,i have run both I.E and Netscape at the same time on seperate p.cs with identicle setups and both using the same network ,Netscape won each time fully loading the same page by at least 50% in all cases

chesters1 - you might want to consider switching to a pure mozilla browser since, as noted, support for Netscape is poor and getting worse.

 

Mozilla provided the engine for Netscape so most of the variations should be fairly familiar to you and since it's open source code for the most part, it should continue to be supported and improved. Take a look at http://www.mozilla.org/

 

But the web site I listed has some seriously expert Netscape users who can answer most any question that comes up.

thanks Newt have been browsing it ,nothing about fonts but several mail opening probs ,i wonder if its a 7.1 problem as it just seems to have occured since i installed it ,the uk version is still 7 :rolleyes:
