Thanks Newt, at least now I can hear when this damn virus tries to connect me to a premium rate number, I,m afraid I've fallen victim to the infamous 1on1 dialer (courtesy of your fellow countrymen at edvansolutions in miramar)

I,m watching the help forums closely for a fix

Eg: http://www.modemhelp.net/vblite/showthread...3?threadid=2324

regards, Dave

My God David!!! I've just read the forum posts!! It sounds like a REAL humdinger that one!! Hope your campaign works mate.

Just had a thought?? How about a few well placed e-mails from one or two on here?? I am sure you could furnish us with a suitably composed letter??

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

I've just updated adaware & ran a custom scan & its removed 4 items of malware that it did'nt find before. Been online for a few hours & the dialer has'nt reappeared yet, fingers crossed.

I'm sure the guys on the modemhelp forum would be grateful of any support in tackling this filth. Like the AN crowd they seem a helpful bunch.

I have premium rate numbers blocked by BT, but, as I found out later, this only applies to your phone line. The internet calls, as they connect via your ISP are not blocked.I've found the only thing to do is to pull the modem cable out as soon as I know this thing is trying to dial.

they should still be blocked, as the modem is just using your normal line to dial a premium rate number, if you're calling a different number, your ISP doesn't come into it, surely?
