mail problems

Recommended Posts

When trying to e-mail companies via their websites I get the following message box:

"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed"

Is this something to do with my settings, how do I rectify it?

Thanks

It means Outlook Express is not configured. I'm not sure if hotmail allows you to use it for emailing, but Tiscali should. Have a look on their website for the settings you need.

Basically, clicking an email link opens up Outlook, with a new email and the address already inserted in the To field. But if it hasn't got the settings, it can't send.

randal:

What is your default mail client?

That means, "what program do you normally use for email"?

So Outlook Express, MS Outlook, Eudora, what?

One quick way to find out is open windows explorer, right-click on a file, click on 'send to', pick email, and see what program opens up. that will be your default email client.
