Anyone know where I can get a cable to go from my com port on the laptop to a NMEA interface in the GPS on my boat????

The fist link is what I'm looking for, although it's a bit more up market than I need. However the site also gives you the wiring for the plug so I could use an old com port cable for what I need

Got my Garmin one direct from Garmin for £15.00 (not worth getting the soldering iron out at that price!) It even has a ciggy socket power lead add on so I can use it in the motor with the hand held as well.

Maplin also do a load as well.

 

Great fun when I first hooked it up for a 'test run' and loaded up autoroute on my laptop - The Mrs & I went off for a drive round with the little red car blinking on the map - even she was impressed!
