Great review as always, now get some sleep :)

On the rod front, will your Scotty Gimball fitting go into the hole, if it does you could use one of their rocket launcher style holders... or get the hacksaw out

Great review Simon!...but don't go wrestling Great Whites for the next one!!! I think thats quite scarey enough and a good warning to anyone considering The Fangs...Don't...well unless you've got a big boat and a big engine!...or unless you test boats for a living and happen to be clinically insane!!! :D

Hows about a nice safe test on a mill pond next Simon?...I'm sure you can come up with an angle to write about!

All the best, and take care you nutter! Art :)

I see by the size of that fish you caught that even they are too scared to stick around in The Fangs, glad you got out alive, like Art says, your a nutter. :eek

Cheers for your good wishes chaps - I promise the tope mark in Treaddur Bay area is nowhere near this lot! In fact it is well inshore of this. Then there is another tope and ray spot south of Maen Piscar - about 2 miles to paddle at most. Deeper water than at Towyn and tide about the same.

Simon, have you tried the reef off Dinas Dinlle. Bream triggers smoothies pollack wrasse huss dogs and tope all within 3/4 mile of shore. Very little current to bother you and only about 18 feet deep so no need for masses of rope to anchor. Half a mile from the reef is a hole full of rays (occasional smalleye but mostly thornbacks). 2 miles from there to the bass, could make a good day for you?

Hi Simon

Glad you and the Yak got out of it safely :)

 That reminds me of a trip Speciman and I had last month. Its not nice to face that sort of sea.

It wasnt till we got back to shore and realised just what we had attempted Its a big no no in a caper.Just didnt have the speed to get through. Its best left to the boats with big Engines

It didnt put us off fishing that area.We will just have to find another launch point to get there safely.

You got some realy good pics there too,Keep them comming :D

All the best

Hey Chris,

Just looked at your website, how small are the small lures, they could be really useful when I'm next in Pembrokeshire.

Nice sensible selection :)
