Thanks for that Ian it,s a good enough size for me for now m8,got one on the canal tonight that bent the lads rod in half,but 3 feet from landing the swine got loose .Thanks for the info m8.

Sorry to bring this back to the top of page 1 again but Ady your PM facility is not activated. Have you elasticated the pole? how did you get on with it? I am going to try to get over to Chorley in the next few weeks to have a go on the L/L canal,sounds like its fishing well, might bing the 'fishing permission officer' with me, she enjoys the odd day or so on the bankside.

NEVER be afraid to ask question, it does not matter how silly you might think it is Ill bet there are many others dying to ask the same question and are to scared to ask because they might sound daft.

Hi Ian i pick the pole up this friday so will only be testing when the little lad goes back to school,went on canal today cought 6 small roach then a 2 1/2 or 3 lb bream only to get it to the side lift the line and then the damn hook slide off the line,i could of cried

Just thought I would add, I bought my missus one of these poles, I elasticated the top three with Avanti 12-18 elastication kit.

Took her to my local club water where she landed a 10Lb Mirror with this pole as well as a few 5-7Lbs Commons.

 

Am well impressed with it for price!!

I envy your good lady,i dar,nt even try my pole till the little lad goes back to school,but will soon be posting on here of my first 20lb plus catch here soon,lol,lol

you shouldn't be losing bream at the side, use a decent landing net with a long handle, i'd net everything apart from tiny gudgeon (of which you may catch plenty). Don't be frightened to try bread punch or flake as a bait, it generally brings out some better fish, the pools at the bottom of locks can be very productive if its muggy as they're well oxygenated.

Well a thumbs up for me got my PB bream 1 1/2 lb never seen a more slimey fish,goo all over the show,lol

ps sorry phil forgot to say landing net at dads and keep forgetting to pick up

don't forget any more, you could break your pole, rip the hook from the fishes mouth and put your back out, non of which are worth a trip fishing when you could have gone to your dad';s instead. We've all probably done it at some stage BUT youre just setting yourself up for a catastrophy.
