Fishing For A Top Cause....not

Hiya, has anyone seen the article in todays "Scottish Sun" ( My apologies for buying it) by that top flight journalist, Juliet Lawrence Wilson. In it, she slags off Holyroods Environment and Rural Affairs Committee, for looking at Humane ways to Kill Lobsters,instead of dealing with global warming, Land reform etc. She says ,and I quote...

 

"If this committe is so concerned about the animals we eat dying humanely,why dont they think about all fish? Fish die a horrible death.Caught in a net,they either suffocate or are crushed to death. Line caught fish end up pulled from the water with a hook in their mouths.

But who cares about a lowly fish."

 

This from a woman who in another article on the same page ,asks,when writing about Take That reforming, and her fancying Gary Barlow and not Robbie Williams.. .. writes " So the burning question is: Should I seek phsychiatric help or end it all now."

 

She wouldnt like my reply at all....I take it she doesnt eat fish then.... Tho' I've seen numerous recipes from her about how to cook the same creature....

Ah, but there are THREE sorts of fish used for cooking, Norrie, those that are netted, those caught on hook and line, and those on the fishmongers slab.

 

She only cooks that third group, which don't need killing, and thus she causes no suffering.

 

The simple (VERY simple) logic of an air-brained journalist.

I know what you mean about the three types Vagabond.

On the odd occasion that i do catch fish my wife informs me that she only eats the third kind too.

 

I hope the journalist in question reads this thread, although that sounds a little too like article research.

Hi Geoff, and Dave....Actually I did mail her to complain, no reply yet...and did tell her to look on here....probs wont do it tho'..... ...but in hind sight, it seems tho' it was just a filler for her page......
