New Firefox

Anyone running the Firefox browser from the Mozilla Corporation might

want to update to the latest released version 1.5 http://www.mozilla.com/

 

There are a load of changes under the hood including bug and security

fixes along with continued improvement to the range and quality of

standards support, with SVG capabilities switched on.

 

They've had a long build up with preview betas and release candidates -

so extension developers should have been able to update. However some

extensions might not work with the new version.

Gave it a try, Sandtiger, and within minutes ran Norton GoBack to get rid of it. The new version doesn't support SpoofStick and I had a miserable time trying to get the Google task bar to load. Newt will look at this for me later, but something just ain't quite right (besides me).

They`ve updated a lot of things in 1.5 compared to the 1.0.x version, therefore a lot of 3rd party add-ons won`t work until the authors update them.

Been using it for about 10 mins now, no problems to report of At one time, I did have a lot of plugins, but since switching to me desky from me lappy, I didn't copy them over. Aint really noticed any difference tbh.

Doesn't anyone use Spoofstick? I find it invaluable for letting me know exactly what URL I am currently on being that sometimes you are routed off to a URL that you really don't want to be on.

It's a program Newt put me on to, Emz. If you sell on eBay or use PayPal, you can get scam emails trying to get you to provide secure info. This program tells me exactly where I have been routed. Newt can probably better explain this than I can. He is on his way to work but I'll bet he checks out this thread and will so kindly help his wife with this one...
