I wouldn't be surprised (and if can find the thread may have predicted this). It's tried to be all things to all anglers with a massive inventory on the premises, there's not much you can't buy there which is fine for punters but if they don't sell loads of stuff it can't last for long.

 

I hope I'm wrong but the few times I've shopped there I could count the number of spending customers on the fingers of one hand.

The only time I've seen it busy was when they were offering free beer!

Just sent them a message on facebook so will report back with their response

The thing is it took them what seemed like an age to get there website up and running and to do the numbers required you would need internet sales

I believe the shutting down is correct, an ex-school mate reported on FB a couple of days ago that he had just bought some decent waders in their closing down sale. Didn't even last two years, similar to the tackle shop that tried and failed in Wokingham in the not so distant past.
