Hello all, and merry xmas.

 

I have been lure fishing for a few years now, But I sometimes I wonder if I am useing my lures correctly. Is there any DVD's/Videos out there that show you how to use lures correct;y? Or even a book. Your help would be most greatful.

There are some excellent books on lure fishing. IMO, the best one on lure techniques (that in fact I've just finished re-reading) is Dave Lumb's "Pike fishing with Lures". It's out of print and hard to find now, and I'm afraid I haven't got a copy in stock at the moment.

Three would fit the bill nicely:

 

Spinning for Pike by Richard Barder (one of Peter Waller's favourite books). I've 2 copies in stock at £12 & £15, the former of which has a small tear on the rear of the dust wrapper.

 

Spinning and Plug Fishing by Barrie Richards & Ken Whitehead. This is an amalgation of their 2 separate books and so particularly good value. I've 2 copies in stock at £17 each.

 

Fishing with Artificial Lures by Dick Sternberg. A US book with lots of info and stunning photos. Price £12.

here are a few that come to mind,and you should be able to get them from amazon or e-bay either as dvd's or video tapes

 

Plugged into pike with gord burton

Lure fishing (usa style) for pike with dave emery

Fishing for big pike using lure techniques with des taylor

and john wilson has a special on lure fishing

 

there are also a few american video's that involve lure / jig fishing and one's RAPALA FISHING VIDEO / "HOW TO" FISHING RAPALA LURES

Best ask the man himself! DLST is Dave Lumb who posts on AN.

 

Not that that is the reason that I am suggesting you buy his cd-rom. Dave's reputaion is totally sound. There are other 'lure' books, most of which I have read. At one time I rated Charlie Bettell's Art of Lure Fishing but it has become dated now.

the book on spinning and plug fishing by barrie richards and ken whitehead is a very good book. ive read it and it has been very useful to me. not only does it talk about fishing for pike, but perch, chub, salmon and sea trout(i think, cant remember)
