what psu have you got i.e 300w-400w etc?

also keep the ups out untill its stable again:)

check heat of cpu etc if its dusty it may well ceep up and if its hitting 60c then it could be trying to protect itself.

Didnt the trojan msblaster do that when you connected to the internet.

Ms balster is an old one so if you are upto date then you should be ok

more info here

http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.mspx

and a fix here

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...moval.tool.html

Another problem i had a while ago(dont laugh) which took me ages to work out was my on/off button was partially sticking and causing the pc to shutdown at different points.

thats about as far as my little knowledge goes.;

Hi Riley

Install the following:

Spybot S&D: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

SwatIt: https://onesecond-128.bit-encryption.net/swatitdownload.html

AdAware Is here

SpywareBlaster is here

I would install and run all the above, one at a time in the order given. When you first run them run the update function in each one. Once they are updated, run the scans.

The final package you should run and check for updates on at least a monthly basis, it stops lots of nasty wee critters installing.

Hope this helps.
