Elton Gets Married

So this makes heterosexuals living together and not wanting the marriage option as distinctly 3rd class citizens, or have I missed the point?

The thing is Alan that a hetrosexual couple have always had the option to marry whereas a same sex couple have not until now. No one is forcing any one into a formalised relationship but just making things a bit more equal.

A high proportion of those with homosexual preferences are born that way. A "normal" male has 7 chromosomes of one type and 3 of another, whereas a "normal" female has 2 (as opposed to 7 in the male) and 8 (as opposed to 3).

By using the word "normal" I refer to the state that fully supports the reproduction of the species.

In a genuine homosexual, the mix of chromosomes can vary from the "norm" and may, for instance, be in the proportion of 5:6 or whatever. It is for this reason that religious bigots shoud desist from condemning those whose behaviour is 'natural to their creation' - because, after all. who is responsible for their creation?

To be fair, though, the research that "proved" the X chromosome theory of homosexuality has not yet been independently verified:

My point is, that the government has gone to great lengths to say that a 'Civil Partnership' is NOT a marriage, and that those entering a 'Civil partnership' have the same rights of inheritance and financial provision as a married couple. Whereas, a heterosexual couple in a loving, long-term relationship have no such rights unless they enter into a marriage.

To quote Groucho Marx - 'Marriage is an institution, but you'd have to be mad to live in an institiution.'

And of course, the tax incentives to get married were removed some time ago...

I know I am in a cynical frame of mind today, but I thought the tax incentives to do anything other than emigrate were removed years ago!

My only problem with it is that now the 'gays' get better tax rules than 'striaght' couples that dont wish to marry (for many reasons) but otherwise live 'as man and wife'.

But the 'media overkill' has once again got on my wick.........

I'd happily suggest that in this case they have a vested interest ;)

Just another ploy to get lawers even more money.....with the first gay divorce....just wait till the press get their teeth in to that one.
