How Much Did It Weigh?

Caught a nice chub in a small river. In good condition, 21.5 inches from the nose to the fork of the tail. Any idea how much it might have weighed? It's been a while since I've had one near this size.

as an estimate from looking at my tape measure i would say 2, maybe 2 1/2 pounds being the biggest

First of all a cracking fish - congratulations!

 

On the standard weight for length scale a 21" chub weights 4-12¾ and a 22" one 5-07¼. So yours was probably about 5-02, depending on its condition.

i only said 2-2 1/2lb because ive caught 4 and 5lb chub and they were much longer and bigger overall than that

i can't imagine a 4 or 5 lb chub ever going much more than 2 feet long

 

i've had 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 pound chub that went to about that length.

well seing as most people here are guessing a weight of 4 to 5lbs, then it would seem that i was wrong. i havent caught that many 4 to 5lb chub anyway, and its been a while since i have
