I thought she drowned on the Poseidon?!

The first time I remember seeing her was in A Place in the Sun with a very young Elizabeth Taylor (I believe she was only about 16) and Montgomery Clift. She was his wife and he killed her so he could be with Liz. Come to think of it she drowned in that movie as well I think. I do remember reading after she did The Poseidon Adventure that she was an Olympic swimmer when she was very young. Was she the mother in A Patch of Blue about a blind girl, Sissy Spacek? falling in love with a black man Sidney Poitier. I don't remember her in Diary of Anne Frank and I loved that movie too but haven't seen it since I was a child. In fact, I thought the older sister was played by Angela Lansbury?! Will go and check out the links now, I like to test my memory first, which is usually pretty crap but I love music and movie trivia and it helps me a little to improve my memory.

OK, I'm back, She only played an ex olympic swimmer in the movie Poseidon Adventure and in A Place in the sun, she can't swim and drowns. The older sister in Anne Frank was Dianne Baker. Interesting that Audrey Hepburn was offered the role of Anne Frank but declined because of her own personal experiences. And the blind girl in A Patch of Blue was Elizabeth Hartman, not Sissy Spacek.

WOW, 130 movies, that's pretty impressive Shelley, reckon I saw maybe 5 of them.

I hate getting up early, I didn't even realise there were two 6 o'clocks in one day!

No, she died of a heart attack on the Poseidon Adventure after swimming through the underwater passage to clear a way out for the rest.
