Conventional fly gear is my aim for the bass but while they are still "sparse" on the ground will go for a controller float and a Snatcher launce.

 

Tack4 was watching me casting last weekend and thought I was getting about 70yds with a 20g float and light spinning gear. Give it a whirl team

Oh the Snatcher launce is a must. If you do try conventional fly gear you will find the launce awkward to cast and you will have to drop down to a sandeel pattern
