Stan,

Not sure what your budget is, but aside from the usual suspects (Tibor, Abel etc.) take a look at the Vosseler S3. I have a DC4 for my #8 work and an S2 on loan from a friend. Great reels. http://www.vosseler-reels.co.uk/S-Series%20(NEW).htm. Give Carl a call ( He's away fishing this weekend ), he's a top bloke and will probably send you one on approval (Not sure if mentioning MJB sent you will help of hinder :whistling: ).

Thanks for that pointer MJB, Abel 12 would be nice but cant justify about £600 for something that may only be used one or two trips in a season. Bughet say, £100-£150 more realistic, (hope her indoors dont read this :o:o:o:o

Elton & YYUK Thanks for the pointers to the sites guys, I`ll give them a good look over later, I had an Airflow last year but must admit to getting rid of it fairly quickly, good enough reel but seemed a bit off balance when turning hard, may just have been that individual reel. The Scierra is fine I use a smaller scierra for the rainbows and that one has a superb drag and is a nicely balanced reel, problem is the larger version mat still be a bit under when it comes to capacity. I`m looking at white marlin on 20lb test (IGFA max for fly) so being none to expert at it on fly (for none to expert read abysmall) I think I`d be happy with large diameter and wider arbor to allow a fair amount of backing. Then again you can double the backing rated using some of the modern ones. Want to get it right so will take a bit more time. :):)

You need look no further than the Vosseler S3! Under £200 and it's brilliant.

I have a S2 that I took to Canada in October it performed brilliantly and stopped 20lb Chum salmon in their tracks.

I have a Rio Multi-tip line 10# on it but I'm looking to get a spare spool next for a similar 8#.
