They look crisper than with your other set-up you had, but there is an awfull lot of noise in them. Is it the converter that is doing that?

What is your setup now, lens's etc as I'm a little confused what your aiming for. Your "normal" shots for example the ones you entered in the challenge dont have noise, but the zoom shots are full of it. I'm wondering if maybe you should just have a decent zoom lens say upto 400mm or more, if it is the converter thats making the noise. Or could it be the digital zoom thats adding it?

Steve, they all have the Conv attached....it was /is a very dull day

Last shot is equivalent of 2400mm lens and 200asa, so when the sun comes out I will be able to get down to 50asa and cut out a lot of the noise.

I will replace those images as I get better ones :)

The other lens (Kenco) was a complete waste of money, continual fiddling with settings to try to get a decent image, enough Flare to do a firework display :) and poor light gathering. This one works with Auto, just point and shoot, or with any other settings.

I'd be interested to see some zoom shots without the converter..and without converter and digi zoom too. Your cam obviuosly takes decent pictures and I understand with better light you'll get less noise, but on the other hand you dont want to be restricted to shooting in sunny spells only..

What's CA??

The optical zoom ones look OK to me, but as you'd expect there's more noise on the digi zoom images.
