PB Tench - Probably

Matthew Simmons

Recommended Posts

Nice tench turned up very late last night at an after work session on Summer Pit - easily my PB - I really thought it was a scraper carp until it finally came in. They were bubbling really hard on my groundbait all evening but wouldn't take a bait till after dark.

OOH get you and your only weigh the bigguns....cracking fish anyways

No scales Steve - you know me! It was a quickie after work and I travel light. Not expecting such a massive tinca from there - anyway I only weigh double figure tench ;-)

Nice looking fish ,not caught one for a couple of years the pond has been very hit and miss tench wise for everyone ,now ofcourse i want to catch one and i am not fishing for carp where they are a pest along with big bream my catch rate fell dramatically LOL

Its strange tench to me is what angling is ,carp to some are the same but tench are special in some way different to all the others

I used to fish Stockbridge when I lived in basingstoke Chesters - loved it for the same reason I loved Summer (yes that's where it was from) because it was unspoilt little gem of a lake. Its just a bit too far for an evening session - Summer is much nearer for me. I keep meaning to tackle "Horse-Pump" on the Yateley site because there used to be some lovely tench in there but the rumours are that nothing is coming out despite concerted efforts.
