I was told today by Bournmouth Canoes that my SPTW had arrived. Then I heard the dreaded "do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first". Well being a depressive I asked for the bad news.

"I have unwrapped it and given it a thorough check. (impressed so far) Unfortunately, (here goes) it has some transit damage, a dent in the hull" (gutted)

Simon then went on to say "However, you can take this one untill I can get you another(thats fair but how long will i have to wait?) which I can have here by tuesday" (fantastic)

Nice to deal with a company thats willing to put their hands up admit a problem and put themselves out to sought it.

I also asked about P13 & 15s. They currently have 3 x P13s NZ boats (2 green & 1 yellow) and an older US model green P15. Just thought I would put that in as i know some have had probs sourcing these.

Second bit of excellent news today. When ordering my first fishfinder I had great service from Steve at JK Max Navigation so not suprisingly went back. This time I thought I would upgrade to a finder/GPS combo to save space. So decided to look at the Eagle and Lowrance (£205-225 ish) range of basic mono models. They are detachable, waterproof with a 2 year guarantee and not so large as to get in the way. I like it clear up front. Sent him an email asking about specifics and as before his reply was by return.

"Sorry, but those models are no longer made and I have sold my last one. However, I have just purchsed the remaining stock of the Lowrance M68i Colour Combo with background mapping RRP £399 which I have now reduced to £279."

A pucker colour daylight viewable finder/combo thats waterproof, detachable & small enough not to take over for less than £60 more than a budget mono. You can imagine my order is in. Thing is dont know how many more he has so if you are interested here is the relevant page : http://www.jkmax.co.uk/102.html

Good day, I think. declined the SPTW will wait untill tuesday.but nice to deal with excellent customer service for a change.

Fished since 2003, the rest of my life I just wasted.

Phoned Brighton Canoes today had received my p13 ,agreed hull not right sending out new p13 next week , it is from USA but should be ok.I think maybe mine could well have been transit damage.Ihave found Brighton Canoes very helpful and would recommend them. Colin

Richi, take it torpedos have arrived then. :D

If I collect mine next Saturday, rig on Sunday and paddle the following weekend 18-19th of March. How about gentle paddle around Hurst area just to give them a test. Rods out of course. (Just in Case):clap2:

or you could take another week to rig and we could launch with Zzippy---------have you done anything about your faulty roofrack?marine cooler is here and have fitted a flagpole/lightpole holder to it(top piece of kit) but still waiting for port & starboard cleats, swimnoodles and Scotty extenders.Fishfinder will go in on Sunday and anchor trolley will be finished then too if cleats arrive(aladdins)like I said mate whenever you're ready----I'm having plenty of fun getting the rigging right.18-19 march might be too big a tide at Hurst as spring is on 16th but knowing you as I do you've probably got plan b and c already thought out anyway!

Richi if you add any more to your yak you are going to need the pilot on board to go anywhere in the Solent :P

Keyhaven out the to the outflow should be OK even on a Spring. Tide will help to get us back. Pretty gentle for first outing.:2:

B.Your not thinking that if the weather is good Warbarrow are you?
