Hi Yak Attack,

We have a Malibu two XL,

we found that the Malibu two XL comes with the two seats included in the price, so it workls out cheaper than the Malibu two. Also the added lenght makes quiet a difference to its speed we found ours faster than the Malibu two. It also means three can be carried easier. Me the wife and son number two regularly paddle a six mile trip along the coast quiet easily, only me and the wife paddling and most of the time only me paddling.

The storage well at the back on the Malibu and Malibu two xl is vertually useless unless you purpose build some contraption to fit it.

The best thing is its versatility, you can move the seat to the centre position and paddle solo no problems, It is a large vessel to paddle alone but you can even get up and streach your legs if you want. :wiggle:

Another point to add is that the Malibu 2 XL is designed to accept Scotty flush mounts on the gunwale, rigging the standard Malibu can be a real headache as there are very few flat areas, mind you the standard Malibu comes with scupper holes big enough to accept a rod butt so you could say it has built in flush mounts :D
