  1. You mean Aberporth, I wish I did live there, I live close to Cardiff where I work but I live in Aberporth most weekends, we have a Caravan there. I just wish the weather was better at the moment.
  2. The MOD are adopting a policy of INTEROPERABILITY which means everything should run on the same fuel as a result there will be more diesel outboards being built for the Navy.
  3. Excellent motor mount with the Minn Kota and looks fantastic to use with the controls in the cockpit. Puts my yamaha mount to shame.
  4. Wont the seals that survived the last outbreak be more resistant to the virus this time around?
  5. Used a seagul and found it fiddly and troublesome (it was 40 yars old) just picked up a yamaha 2.5 HP motor and its a totally different beast, quieter, more fuel efficient, easier to start, no two stroke mixing required, but it is heavier. From a theoretical point of view the two stokes will develop more power per CC than a four stoke as they have a compresion stoke each revolution where as a fourstorke only has a compresion stroke every two cycles. Therefore to equal the horse power you need a larger CC in a four stroke.
  6. The right way up outside in the rain on its trolley. BIG MOTOR BIKE CHAIN THROUGH SCUPPER HOLE AND LARGE UNMOVABLE OBJECT! It gets water inside it after a while caused by expansion and contraction of the air inside sucing water in throught the Gaspatchi Hatches!!
  7. How many of you out there use a trolling motor? How many of you have bought one and never use it after first few tries?

I use the following lifting device together with a thule hydro glide small boat carrier, it makes loading a Malibu II XL onto my roof a one man job with ease. http://www.aberporthholidays.co.uk/roofrunner.htm towbar lifter
  9. Torgeedo Whilst reading Practical Boat Owner April addition I spotted an advert for a new electric out board. The specks are very very impressive any one tried one yet? Also Hello, not been on here for months but the fair weather is approaching and I want to go Yakking soon.
  10. Mike last time me and Cath went out a Dolphin nearly jumped over our bows, you should have seen the misses Jump!
  11. I noticed on the weekend that the HellyHansen shop in the Mcarthur glen shopping mal has dry suits reduced to £199.00 in a few sizes HH not bAD!
  12. Does any one have any experience fishing here is it worth a go?
  13. Having lifted shifted dropped and sworn at my Malibu II XL over the last two years and always always having to run after the misses to ask for help when its windy or wet I made something to help. I have an estate car (will only work well on estates) and already have a Max Rack Bike rack which bolts to the tow bar of the car. So some squaresection bar and one weld later I have a "Roof Runner" its difficult to explain in words so I took some pics. The rolloers are waste pipe covered in foam and taped on. See HERE. 14. You would not think about killing this little fella would you?
  15. C-Tug is great but do not be tempted to tow the Kayak behind the car. I have foolishly done this on the dust track back up to my camp site about a mile at about 20 miles an hour. The wheel bearings will melt!!! Looking for C-Tug Spares now!
  16. Hi Mike, Glad to see youve taken the plunge already! Do you have any pitures of your new Yak? We would love to see them if you do.
  17. Hi Mike, AS I think you know me and Cath have the OceanKayaK Malibu II XL we have so much fun on this it is unbelivable, These are the guys to ask on here I am sure they will be along soon to answer your questions. What many have said is that the angler additions are a bit over priced, a normal Yak can be kitted out for fishing much cheaper than buying one ready. You will see some of the yaks on here look more like the starship enterprise by the time they are fully kitted out but some of us take things a little less serious than others. Fishfindersd, GPS, Motors, are a few extras some fit, it will be Radar Next! All the best with the Yaking, I may see you in the water down Wales in a couple of years then!! BY the way, your PM regarding Bass in the area was news to me I did not realise Bass were being taken so close to the beach! and as for spearfishing that is such a waste as you say. All the best Derek
  18. Does any one use or has any one tried using a swim feeder in the sea? I have experimented with it (home made one) from rock marks and have found it gets bites when others around get nothing! Thinking of trying it from anchor, any one else done this?
  19. £650.00 ONO 170,000 miles but well serviced!! 12 Months MOT, 6 Months Tax New Timing Belt and Pads.
  20. Hi Merchant We have a Malibu II XL, We have not regretted the decision to get this once, The Malibu II XL comes with two seats included, check the Ocean Kayak catalogue to be sure. We regularly use it for fishing with two on and have even paddled six miles in it with three on board. You can garantee your youngest will want to come soon enough. The only down side to the malibu II XL is its weight not a problem on the water its great but lifting onto the roof of the car after a day out paddling is hard and some muscles that work are required. There is plenty of storage space under deck and you can stow a C-Tug trolley under deck once middle hatch fitted. The Malibu II XL also comes with elasticated rope straping at front and rear ready fitted to hold down your bits bobs and dry bag ect. All in all a good choice if you are going to take two or even three out on a regular basis and very very stable you can stand to swing a cat no problem. If its going to oonce in a blue moon you take more than one out then go for a single with a big tank well. Malibu II XL is large enough for two to fish comfortably, smaller yaks would be ok for short paddles with two but propably not for fishing for long periods with two. Hopw this helps. Derek
  21. It was intersting, Thank God they had propper equipment (Dry suits, Dry bags, PFD) or one of them if not both would have been dead at first dunking. Can anyone answer why they did not have spray decks on?
  22. Well the indistructable C-Tug has been broken, I snapped the plastick strap buckle!! OK I was warned by you all the strap was crap and it must now agree but easy to put a new buckle on, Mark II C-Tug needs a bigger Buckle and thicker strap.
  23. Sorry to say me and the misses are not going to be out this comp due to the Loss of my mothering law. But we will return next year.
  24. This welsh site would suggest Wales does welcome anglers!! http://www.anglerswelcome.com Wales welcomes anglers As already stated a few spoil it for the rest, I am welsh and any nationality are welcome to fish in wales as far as I am concerned.
