Spud, they are good. But a tip from someone who has bought far too much tackle over the years, buy what you need, not what you think you might need. You'll save pounds, and acres of shed space!

Mine is always in my tip sleeve, never leaves it, always goes to Ireland with me also.

 

Great in windy conditions, put it on, put the line through, piont it at the place you cast, put tip under water then watch the polaris do its stuff, not effected by the wind,

Always have mine in my rod holdall. Handy bit of kit, as Andrew said they are a valuable item in windy conditions.

Also a good option to use with a float rod if fishing the tip is a better option.
