You can even have Mods on your ignore list!

 

{Certainly you can. May not do you much good though since as noted, you cannot put yourself on your ignore list.

I'm sure I've seen this mentioned on here but I can't find it.

If there is a particular contributors posts that you just find stupid or offensive, is there a way of editing them out so that you don't have to see them?

You can do it on the options panel.

 

Better way, find out where they live, go around their house and kill them.
