140lb Bream

I came accross a mention of the IGFA record for the Wuchang Bream being 70 Kg's and did a little search. I don't think one of these would leave your average carpie moaning about catching snotties.

Thats some "Snotty" Ken! Now comming back with a photo of one of them from your Thai trip would be well worthwhile.

I wonder if they shoal like our Bream?........................Holy Moley could you imagine the amount of groundbait you would need! :o

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

None in Thailand Budgie. I'd have to go to China for one. They're native to the Yangtze River system so should anyone feel inclined to import some fingerlings to Europe, they would probably do well in Spain.

I dread to think about tactics or baiting requirements but really what's the point ? They'd just fight like a builders delivery sack instead of a carrier bag.........

If the Thai trip comes off, I'd love to have a crack at several species but high on the list is the thick lipped Barb - now that's a pretty carp.

Obviously you like species hunting, just curious as to the fish in your picc? It looks pretty impressive.

Dunno whether it is the same today, but the bream haters used to make me laugh when they ranted on about having had a 7lb 8oz 6dr (or whatever) bream taking their carp bait! :D
