Whats happening.

Sometimes when I am browsing the Internet, with no other programmes running, the red light area on my Modem starts flashing and chattering away for ages.

 

If I go to Control - Alt - Del, it shows no programmes running (except IE) and when I check the Processes running, there is nothing that active.

 

Its not Auto Updates, because they are all timed for PC start up.

Any ideas what it could be, or how I can find out what it is ?

Try Firefox browser because trojans have a nasty habit of attachting themselves to IE

try this,

click start, and in the run box type cmd and hit enter or return,

in the dos window type netstat -a

this will show you what is in contact with the internet.
