Buying Software

Hi flibb

just had a quick look at primopdf, unfortunately it don't do links!!

Elton, yes you can have "click here" type links in acrobat documents, any links of that type saved as pdf from open office writer (including html files!) will be retained as links.

Hmmm...I'll see what jedibond finds first, then.

It is a deal-breaker, but having links as described would be handy for what I want.

Just been having a play with this:

http://www.nitropdf.com/

I would say that it is a better product than acrobat! and less than $90 (and I love acrobat have been using it professionally since the alpha release!) Will do everything you could wish, there's a free trial version you can have a play with

Elton,

I've got a sealed copy of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard if you want it. Fully legit, we get loads of software to test and analyse at work, just that this one never got installed.

Yours for nowt if you want it.

I just checked and this booklet did maintain URLs and mailto: bits as live links. I created it in the OpenOffice word processor and clicked on the button to save it as a .pdf.

Newt,

That looks spot on.

Is it easy to create an index page? One that links to each 'chapter' at the start?
