Den, in outlining why you won't use a pole for barbel fishing you have told the less scrupulous how to succeed. The Barbel Police will be round in an hour. Have your tooth brush packed and two tubes of toothpaste, you could be away for a long time.

There was an article on plole fishing the Kennet for Barbel a year or two ago nd it provoked the usual responces ie Barbel are not like other fish and the pole should not be used.

Peter, a little article of mine re pole fishing for barbel has been on BFW for several years and I am still alive and well (well almost )
