Blenheim Palace

Im off to Blenheim in a few weeks time has anyone got any pointers? Ive never fished out of a boat before other than when out seafishing either.

Is it like most places now where the fish respond to pellets?

Thanks all

Haven't been to Blenheim for years now. If I recall correctly the boats are punts and perfect for fishing from, very stable but not very manouverable! When I fished it pellets hadn't been invented so I can't help there I am afraid, we fished for the tench and used lobworm tails and bread flake, feeding mashed bread and chopped worm. Make sure you use the mudweights or poles (can't remember which they have, I think mudweights which aren't as good as poles) at both ends of the punt to stop it swinging round with the wind. Nothing worse when trying to fish than a swinging boat.

Have fun.

Was there in the summer, just doing the touristy bit and not fishing. A steam runs into the lake at one corner and about 50 yds up this steam noticed a large shoal of chub in the 3/4/5lb size.

Hope this helps :)
