Well when we controlled a stretch of river, we sometimes gave the 'poachers' swimming lessons.

throw the poachers in, it will get the police out quicker than you calling because they are stealling fish lol

errr if fish in a river are wild then they belong to no-one ,the landowner can decide who uses his land to fish from and can make rules to how these wild fish are treated or by what method can be used to catch them but besides the landowners "rules" the fish belong surely to whoever catches them (probably a little different re game fish) and up to the catchers what happens to them.

yes your poaching regarding fishing from the land itself but not in taking the fish themselves .

maybe if a rod wasent used but a winder even a rod licence could be avoided but as this is a tax i think the loop holes will be small indeed and the winder classed as a rod when its in reality a reel <_<

maybe if persons swam using a float without touching the land using a line on a winder they could fish anywhere in a river ,catch and take home any fish they wished and no-one would be able to stop them :o

is there any rules stopping mass fish taking using stunning devices so long as the above criteria were used ??

the EA have no problems taking fish from a river bounded on both sides by landowners so why cant anyone else ,the fish are wild who-ever takes them and in the case of the EA and a "poacher" theres no need to inform the land owner they are taking the fish anyway :(

if fish are taken without the landowner being told and even ignored on being challenged its ok if you show your EA "hat" but different if you dont have a "hat" at all in both cases the fish are taken physically only their destination once loaded up are different :D

in the case of a pond if someone takes fish without consent then its theft ,but its theft from the landowner who's land its on ,a fishing club may rent the pond but everything in it still belongs to the landowner so rather than theft from the club its still theft from the landowner unless the landowner is the club. ;)
