UNDERWATER FOOTAGE

I watched these last night....indeed they were fascinating.

It was interesting to see the line from the lead was waving around everwhere and touching the fish and they didn't seem bothered - when I have seen this behaviour on pressured fish feeding in the margins it scares the c**p out of them and they often bolt if they feel the line!!!

All in all, most enjoyable footage and a glimpse of what on earth goes on down there at times!

By the way, what where those smaller fish? (it was obviously filmed in foreign waters), they looked like piranha-roach hybrids!!!

Now I can see why carp anglers spend so much time playing about with all sorts of knots and shrink tube on rigs.

I used to think they were a load of tackle tarts, but a 30lb carp has obviously been around a bit and seen a few baits in its time. Must be very hard to tempt!!

What is also shows is that if you feed very small particles and then use a massive bouyant bait you're lucky to hook anything. The carp are sucking it up randomly, not picking it out, and ejecting it because it's not food, and the rig isn't good enough to hook them when it's in their mouths. I bet if he used a small bait and a running rig - or dare I say it, a float! - and struck when he had a bite rather than waiting for the rig to do the hooking he'd hook a lot more. They're obviously feeding hard.

They're clearly uneducated fish too so it's not their 'rigginess' that's allowing them to get away with it.

Plus Fanny Dairbrass isn't ruining it. Oh my love! That is pukka.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
