I have a unhooking mat for pike meet and nothing else :(

 

dont know what i need!

 

I do have a selection of lures though but they have barbs on :wallbash:

 

how prepared do i need to be?

If I can see straight in the next couple of days I'll take some pics of my tackle.(Fnaar Fnaar) and post it up. At least you have the mat.

 

Crush the barbs with pliers (or blag it).

would love to mate but I am going out with TPW and GB this weekend!

 

Have to start packing soon as bought a new house and moving in 1st Dec.

 

Pike meet weekend of the 24th Nov and a possible cod charter trip on 15th Dec.

Dont particularly want to spend loads of £$£$£ on Pike tackle as I wont be going regularly

Hoping to have a trip locally this weekend Stu, getting a bit of quite practice in, check out me lures and end tackle, hopefully my unhooking techniques as well :)

 

Just read an interesting article about barbless hooks, Pike and Carp, it appears that some waters are starting to ban barbless as they believe that the fish that get free from barbless hooks are actually doing more damage to themselves than if they were hooked with barbed hooks and stayed on.

 

Think it would be a good idea on the Friday night/Saturday morning of the meet to go through the tackle and see who has what, I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere else.
