Solent COD trip - catch report

If you get hit for tax and collection charges I think it will work out about the same (it was about the same when I worked it out for the other ram holders they sell). Going for the slower/cheaper delivery option may reduce the chance of being hit. Or you could ask for each mount to be sent on its own - each item should be within the tax/duty free limit (you will have to pay double shipping though). Worth taking a 6cm diamater circular cutout to see if you have space in the right place to fix the C ball mount. May be tricky to secure the mount if you fit it using the flushmounts. Was going to do a similar thing with my kayak as it has flush mounts too but managed to find a space to the side of it.

Thanks Simon, yeah, there's a little triangular section in front of and on the same angle as the flush mounts on the P13 that will just fit. Presumably the angle makes no difference as they're ball joints? Can't get even the slightest flex out of it. Would well nuts work or are rivets better? How long does the slow delivery usually take?

The angle should make no difference.. sounds like you have found a good spot for them. Haven't used well nuts before so can't comment on suitability... the kamptight rivets do hold well though.. I used 5 rivets per mount..maybe overkill I don't know but using many should reduce strain on the hull.. worth buying a bag of ten when you place your order. Took about a week to come through after it had been sent.

I've used wellnuts to pimp my yak Kev but much as I love them I wouldn't trust them with the ram mounts

The rivets will hold it easily. Ive forgotten what thay are rated too but it is something ridiculous.

Fished since 2003, the rest of my life I just wasted.

The RAM mounts I have installed on the top face of the side rail just onfront of the seat are attached using wellnuts and they are absolutely fine. Held up fine with a skate yanking on the end :)

WOW! I have to say I'm impressed Paul  ,and it's certainly opened more opportunities for me to pimp my yak :clap2: ,feel a bit bad for telling Paintfly they wouldn't hold :wallbash:(especially now he's ordered enough rivets and mounts to sink a battleship) but that was my opinion then---you've certainly changed it!

No worries, Karen at Hook 1 has sorted everything out and just the 2 mounts are winging their way to me as we speak. Fingers crossed on the duty
