I wouldn't bother having one made up specially, there are loads of good rods out there. I can only recommend the one I've got, which is a Fox Specialist Barbel 11ft 1.5lb tc (approx £100 new), but I expect other similar rods are as good.

 

In fact I'm keeping an eye out for another one myself, ready for the tench fishing.

Can I put in a good word for the Drennan Super Specialist Duo 1.5lb TC? I got one last year for tench, chub and barbel, and it's a lovely rod.

I have 2 John Wilson barbel quiver rods and they are brilliant. They are 1.75tc and have a lot of grunt which I found out last year when I pulled a 9lb2oz barbel out of a peg which was littered with snags on 15lb braid. They come with an additional dolly section which will take them from 11ft to 13ft so are good for those long distance feeder fishing sessions, and they are quite sensative too. I think everyone has their favourites so I thought I'd throw another one in for you to consider.
