Sturbridge shoal catch report 28 april

Launched at Gilkicker next to the inshore rescue station.would like to thank the girl that bared her boobies at the launch site--nice start to the day!

 

Have been wanting to try this mark for along time as there have been Tope to 80lb caught here.Took less than an hour to battle my way through the boat traffic to the mark.There just happened to be a bouy right where I wanted to fish!Caught a brace of Bream and one doggie--bit early yet.

 

 

 

Coming back I sailed for most of the way

 

 

met a couple of dinghy anglers just off Gilkicker point on the way back,only one of them had caught( a mackie).

 

Off to the boat jumble tomorrow then next week it's

 

TOPE!

that sail thingy looks good. A few questions:

 

1. can you tack with it or only follow the wind?

 

2. how do you erect it and store it?

 

3. Have you ever trawled with it?

1.you can not tack with it,but you don't need the wind directly behind you

 

 

2.erection is just a matter of releasing it from the paddle keep

 

 

3.no or did you mean troll--In which case,I rarely lurefish as I don't target Bass,I get enough as by-catch when we go after the Conger

 

I often take it when I'm going offshore and the wind is favourable for my return
