Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

"Even a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work."

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

Great set of words to live by IMHO. At minimum, to think about before doing something rash (and stupid) that will upset/hurt others. As with Elton, thick may not apply to me, but Newt does qualify for that one some days. :P but I can't help but love the guy, anyway.

Thick as in the adjective thick=Growing close together.

There you go Elton they can all apply to you.

Ah, I see - as in "Thick as thieves". Haven't heard that usage of the word for years (I *was* wondering what it was doing in the list). Probably unknown in that sense in the US. :)

Not being one for the power of positive thinking the list didn't do much for me.

But if I were, then one word I would add to your list would be RESPECT(FUL), I know that it is sometimes regarded as a weakness these days, but I think that it deserves a place.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Do you mean to tell me that you've never stood in front of the mirror repeating "I must, I must improve my bust"?
