The European Rabbit's (thats you by the way) scientific name is Oryctolagus cuniculus, hence Vagabonds 'oryctolagic' quip. But what does Oryctolagus mean? Orycto is Greek and literally it means "thing dug", like a fossil, or earth or even a tunnel, or tunnel-dweller. The 'lagus' part is also Greek and means lust, lustful or lecherous. The cuniculus bit means 'pacas' the family of animals the rabbit is a member of. So there you go, rabbits were just lecherous little pacas that lived in tunnels to the Ancient Greeks. Not a lot has changed, huh?

Corydoras is froom the Greek too, it's not just a cute little catfish, Cory means "helmet" as in a piece of armour and doras is "skin". So Corydoras is the 'helmet skinned one'. In other words I'm a thick skinned little bastid', and I couldn't give a toss.
