Seals funny old things a nightmare at times with us taking fish but you do see the funny side sometimes this one was very inquisitive there is sea life centre 20 miles down the coast what takes seals in then releases them this one looks like one of them i have a picture of a sea otter on the front of my vessel and this seal took a likeing to it .

Sorry for the angle on the vide

We see some amaizing things off the yorkshire coast in summer especially when the whales arive amoung the herring shoals in August and September Minkys, Humpbacks ,Pilot Whales we see them sometimes in great numbers now this whale whats on the video was a bit of a strange one we were fishing on reef 9 miles out of whitby in september a couple of years ago when this baby Humpback suddenly plonked itself right under my vessel Sea-Otter 2 litterally right up against the keel the tide was slack so we werent moving every 5 minuites it would suddenly swim round the boat the guys couldnt believe what they were seeing.

Now you have got to remember my vessel is 33ft long and this whale was bigger than my boat a very strange thing when something much bigger is sat right under your vessel and could rev up at any time.

This lasted for about half an hour till i said thats it we were off to another fishing mark then it went straight over to another charter boat mistress which was about half a mile away one of guys onboard then videod the whale doing the exact same thing to them as it did with us later after putting a report on the net i got phone call off the whale people saying it must have been a baby humpback whale which has lost its mother and was looking for company it all tallys up when you think about it.
