saw this boat on the local news this morning and as i was heading down in that general direction took my trusty canon with me. :camera:

once i got there i couldn't get very close so i used my 55-200mm lens, but had to shoot through a wire fence and the holes in the fence were too close to poke the lens through, so the blurry bits are fence wire

you can see the "brittannia" in the background as well

by the time i worked out how to get closer albeit with the risk of being ejected by the dudes in the flouro coats i had run out of time and had to bolt....

crap pics, but the best i could do in the circumstances

cheers lads,

i'm a bit disappointed i couldn't get a bit closer, i was pushed for time as i had to be home for my son's getting home from school.

i'm not shy at trying to get in for a better shot, but there was a few of the yellow jacketed guys about and unusually i wasn't in the mood for an argument...lol

maybe get a chance for a better shot before it leaves

Les that is one mean looking craft. Not fancy taking your family for a tour of Brittania, looks like you could get some good shots in from her bows

I paid for a trip around her a few years ago and found it very educational. Those audio handsets are supplied which I always plumb for.
