Stainless Steel banksticks.

I've been looking at quite a few makes recently, most of them appear to be virtually indestructable, and much easier to push into harder ground, but does anyone use them, and what are the main differences? The Solar and Chub banksticks look good, but are there any others I should be looking at?

The thing I noticed about my solars was the additional weight, They were significantly heavier than my hollow banksticks.

I'm not just so concerned, as I'll probably only ever buy the two, but I'm fed up with alot of them not being up to the job, and especially slipping down when wet. Most of the stainless jobbies have a very positive lock on the extentions, which would be a major selling point to me.

I'd echo Si in recommendating the Badger stainless banksticks. I used a pair and also got a friend to test them. They were first rate and inexpensive.

However I eventually gave them away as like all stainless ones they were heavy. I'd originally tried them as I had the same problem as DC in that aluminium ones didn't last.

Then I discovered King's Banksticks. These are the only ones I've ever used that I'm totally happy with. Although made of aluminium I've never bent them in the 4 years I've had them. The T-bar height adjustment is very secure, whilst the thin but strong brass (rather than a soft metal) point suits a lot of types of bank including gravel. And of course they're lighter than stainless steel.
