they dont have to ,its dependant on light and heat if yours is in a central heated house or vivarium it will say awake.

remember as a kid putting your pet in a box for the winter was mainly because old houses lacked heating.

my sister has two in a heated shed they stay awake all winter (and probably i would too thinking of the heating costs :o )

she has two different types one is still pretty small the others turning into a giant despite their similar ages

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Just wondering if anyone have a tortoise if so has it gone into hibernation yet?

Most tortoise will hibinate and esstabate, Winter and summer dormant periods This is designed to aviod extreems in weather in thier native enviroments What type of tortiose do you own ? Chesters is right a constant tempreture will stop this from happening although I believe in replicating the native enviroment as closely as possible even for limited periods as these periods of rest allso influance things like fertility.
