No Morals or scruples

I visit boot sales regularly, (not the 5.30AM Anorak types though) and they usually have a tackle stall or two, what I have noticed is that they stallholders will sell anything to anyone. I was looking at getting some bits and pieces on Sunday, the normal stuff, links and swivels etc, and there was these 2 lads that wanted to go fishing off the local pier but needed some advice on what to buy, they had £5 each, the stall holders was trying to palm off 5/0 hooks, 8oz breakaways with 35lb line!! soon as he cleared off I managed to sort the lads out with some lighter stuff, but it really annoyed me that this bloke would have took their money and left them with tackle totally unsuitable. Have people no idea that these are the future anglers that will be spending hundreds of pounds if they catch the bug? short term gain, long term loss springs to mind. Just needed to get it off my chest, feel better now, until next time anyway, does anyone else find some tackle dealers are only interested in money and would take cash off of the unwise? or is the state of the world now?

35lb line wouldnt have been any good on the canon wall at lyme, conger bit straight thru 50lb. but that was only once in 3 years ! 5/0 hooks bit of overkill for 3 bearded rockling i'd say, maybe the 8 oz leads were for knocking blennies out on the drop

rising at 5.30 on a sunday i can assure you i have no anorak`s but instead grab the bargains and other items that are snapped up long before the late risers get out of bed :P and the sole purpose of car boots is to sell the goods if the buyer is a little nieve then as with everything else its buyer beware.

unfortunatly this backfired on me sunday and i spotted a fox bedchair coming off the back of a pickup ,i asked the price £10 so i had a look and spotted a bit missing so rejected it ,5 mins later a saw a chap carrying it off gleafully and i noticed the missing bit in place ,the seller had found it after all
