launched at north forlands nr margate kent last wedneday and ended up cruising right round to dover admiralty to get some mackeral for bait for the year ahead stopped quite a few times as the fishfinder went mad but never caught 1 looked at the admiralty and only saw 8 come up the wall just goes to show you cant always catch better in a boat.

Predator, about 20years ago working on a rig of humberside and saw something that amaized me,it was august and there was a massive mackerel shoal cruising round the rig a couple of the BP guys had rods so i though get a couple of mackerel for dinner dropped three feathers down waited to fill up the trace but could not catch one they would not take, they were darting away from the feathers it was not until dusk that we started to catch, then all hell broke loose three every drop as many as you wanted so it just goes to prove mackerel do not feed 24hrs a day there is certain ellerments what trigger them off.

Sounds about right. Fish dont feed all day long otherwise they would just expload. Seems to be dependent on tide state and time of day.
