also worth knowing is that you get keelhauled for taking any lobster with a v notch in its tail. they are part of a mortality study.

theres a small spot on the eastern corner of I.O.W almost opposite pompey harbour entrance that has lot of hidey holes for lobsters its marked on the charts (if i can remember after all these years) "dumping ground" ,from what i heard its munitions that were dumped there so watch your anchor

Cheers JONNYX for the info,looks a bit like one of those long winded insurance documents that no one understands, But promise to read the whole thing when I have a week off! Any chance you could translate it into laymans terms for a thick Geordie, ie do you measure from head to tail or claw to tail,have not a clue! Also do not fancy this keelhauling malarky so tell me which swine is cutting a notch into the little critters tails and he will get a dandruff kiss from me!

Took wor lass to the lobster spot I had in mind and planned to fit in a bit of spinning as well. Never having been to that spot before she said "no way can I climb down there" - forgot the fact that most women do not climb like mountain goats! Will go it alone at a later date - lucky lobsters!
