Just wondered if anyone could perhaps enlighten me on the shore fishing on the Island as I'm planning a couple of days there in the summer.

 

I know Nick would be the man to tell me but I aint seen him on since I joined the forum.

No saint never had the chance...But I am hoping to go across to Rum on my boat this summer to do some fishing....but that is a 'big' hope!! Checked my PM's and I haven't heard about any Gar's but the mackerel shoals last year where hit and miss...one day off borgue the next off the snout...If we get some calm weather and clear water I can't see why not though?? I will give it a go this summer..float fish some mackerel strip in a chum slick and see what happens....

I'm hopefully going up to Coll this year to do some boat and beach casting...My mate was up there a couple of years ago and had a nice Bull Huss from the beach, which seemingly is nearly untapped...

Julian often goes to Mull for the rally. He takes his fishing gear, but I'm not sure if he's ever fished the beach. Drop him a line - he posts fairly often.
