  1. having been made redundant and facing eviction, I am waiting for the council to provide a house for my family. Now a local fish factory has just employed 30 Polish workers and guess what>>>???? Yep the fnucking council has found them homes to live in. I am the wrong nationality being white and English, may sound racist but at the moment I am too angry to give a to&&

    MAKERAL

hokais are better than feathers. Yes lead on the end. Make sure your hokais/feathers are tied with strong enough mono, some of the cheaper end are for boat use only.

    MAKERAL

Skippy, the best thing to do is wait until the boats are catching about 1/2 mile off shore, watch for gull and ganet activity close to shore. End of June onwards. You cannot watch sea birds TOO much when targetting Mackies.....Lee
  4. National Raving Looney party has my vote......
  5. Having been made redundant and looking for work, I have used gill nets off the beach to add to my income of fnuck all......I have caught sea trout which I returned as these were not my intended species... As I have said I am looking at licencing my boat to make a living, But I have decided not to as it will not be a viable enterprise. If I could sell Salmon and Sea trout then it would be a profitable business, but as the law stands I can't......so sod it Jobseekers here I come!!!!

    Towing A Boat

Don't forget if the laden weight exceeds 750kg then you must have working trailer brakes or your insurance ain't worth didly squat...Lee
  7. A seal would get through any legal Gill net without problem as they are designed to rip to allow certain animals through...otters...dolphins etc are a nightmare as they rip holes to massive sizes....Unfortuanately if a seal or otherwise hits a net and tangles itself without ripping, then it is up to the user to be considerate enough to be there to release any 'by catches'. Regards Lee
  8. yeah sam-cox but I have and always will be a rod and line man...just need some income ....I could sell the warrior and buy a ready licenced boat for peanuts!! but I still enjoy fishing!!!! **** knows ..... will see what the court says tommorow ??? Regards Lee
  9. Toerag I will get £5.50 per kilo of bass. that is about £100/ fishbox, Throwing 600 yards should see me 3-4 box's....enough for a warrior...I have a garunteed sale and my licence will be an investment....plus I have a £12,000 boat to use as tax relief..granted at 25%/ year but it still counts.....Sounds like I may be a tw*t after all.....Will look into it further and let you know the outcome...Regards Lee
  10. Hi all and thanks for the advice....going to court tommorow for eviction....Steve we can catch bass all year round matey, January is slow but we get a good run. Last week a 8lb was caught via spinner off a local slipway....? This was an option as I have F*ck all else I can do....I know cows and the sea..... It was nice to catch my first skate with Davy last year (and learn sea craft ect). I was earning £28,000 as a head dairyman and now nowt!! with loans and sh*t !! now facing eviction....Steve matey, If a few nets keep my kids fed then sorry I will do it, I don't feel happy about it but ...needs must...ya know>>>>>
  11. After being made redundant and facing eviction from our home (tide accomadation) I looked into licencing my warrior 165 for gill nets....It will cost me £3500 for a licence. Now I am a fisherman like you all, but I need an income.....Now it will be damm hard work and graft, but I will be targeting bass....The question is.. will I be a TW*T doing it or will I be forgiven as it will be my only income.....???????? Regards Lee. PS I feel like a TW*T doing it but needs must etc etc....
  12. as said else where the questions were all pre-organised...load of ********.....the BBC let it's self down...Bradshaw knew half the callers ffs.....first name basis etc....Lee

  18. Ian no I haven't mate...only had the boat since jan this year and work comitments don't allow time to hunt the tope...I have seen you a few times out of Port Logan...but never introduced myself...I am the guy with the blue hull 165...Regards Lee and PS I have never folowed you :)always done it the hard way but if you have a spare day sometime would love to see a topemaster at work... I live in Castle Douglas so its only a wee trip.....regards Lee
  19. Rob I don't see how anyone could frown at catching a fish of a lifetime...Thanks to Davy I caught my first skate a few weeks ago and the memory will stay with me forever.. I suppose someone could of been Tope fishing and hooked it by mistake but a ton up skate must be better than any tope....Lee
  20. Don't know why Davy does it.....sounds like hard work to me!!!!
  21. I must say I feel for the Guy's that lost their lives, to form the wrecks we fish now!...how many folk think 100's of people died in this particular wreck we are fishing....makes you think?? I take my hat off to all mariners and submariners that were brave enough to make us a fishing mark....Lee
  22. Ian B...sorry for the too much info but I thought everyone new where the Haddock where.....Apologies to all. My misses works in a fishy that owns commercials and they know it so....anyway whats done is done....live and learn.. Lee
  23. PS always found my own marks and as most are inshore I use the old and tested way of 'land looking' My gps is secondary...like the old fashioned way I guess......I have put a mark out of Port Logun which always catches Cod to 4-5 lb in a deep hole near the mull. I have never targetted the 'monsters of the deep' but after a weekend with Davy ..... things are about to change....watch this space lol
  24. I have got MOD's all over my gps!!! as we hit the haddock out of Port Logan to 5lb....unfortuanately I don't know how to get rid of them so there are about 20 people swimming for their lives out there with no help !!!! Lost my info book....any help in saving these guys would be good?? it is an LMS320 cheers Lee:)
