Art's your man does it all the time on a Malibu II, I've had a go myself and although a little harder, it's character building. :)

He didn't appear to have any problems keeping up with the Prowler 13's on the Tope Trip, infact he was in front of me most of the time.

If you are desperate you could use a set from a sun lounger, might find some of these at the dump or in my garage. :D But golf trolley wheels will be better, they are also used on dingy launching trailers.

Have you thought about asking a Scouser? They know how to "acquire" wheels in less than a minute :D (Politically correct - me? Certainly not!!) Any Scousers are quite free to have a pop back :D

If you are not taking them with you wheel barrow wheels are excellent - but they are heavy. Launching trolley wheels from a sailing dinghy outlet are another alternative. Couple of quid apiece.

Hi Kelvin,

bit slow on the reply, but yes I paddle a tandem all the time, mostly solo, sometimes with my boy on the back...but he doesn't paddle!

The one difference is though that I paddle a Malibu Two. This yak has a depression in the centre to position a seat...effectively making it a 3 seater. In my humble opinion it is the most versatile sit-on-top available for that very reason. Being able to paddle solo, two up or with a third passenger is so flexible. I loved it so much I bought another one to get the whole family out on the water.

However your perception I think only has the two seat positions and two sets of foot wells. So ideal positioning is not so easy. This said, all is not lost as your gemini is lighter than mine and should paddle well solo. Persoanlly I would paddle from the front, just cause I like to 'tow' the yak behind me. I occassionally paddle up front in mine when fly fishing for mullet. I get a better view and stay more stealthy at a distance. But try it for yourself, you may prefer the back seat and all that space in front to boat your massive catch :D

The main thing is don't be put off by a, less than ideal yak. It maybe a bit harder to paddle. You may not look as cool as the Prowler crowd :D ...but you're still out on the water with just as much chance of hooking a few great fish! :D

Best of luck and let us know how you get on,

Tightlines, Art :)
