  3. Any advise on how to find the deepth of the water and on finding where the fish are feeding in relation to depth. I usually set my float up and then add a ssg weight to the hook, continuelly adjusting the depth until the float sits right. The problem I find with this method is that if you don't hit the same spot every time the float may be overdepth or under depth etc. Any advise is appreciated. Thank you, Kelvin
  4. Thanks for your reply, I'll give it a go on saturday. kelvin
  5. I am relatively new to course fishing and was wondering... ...when should and when shouldn't you use ground bait? I fishing a stretch of cannal that holds the usual suspects, tench, rub, roach etc. I tend to only fish using a waggle close of near the bottom, unless I see signs of movement on the top. The area of canal I fish (neath canal, south wales), is in areas weeding with patches of open water and lilly pads. Thank you all in advance. Kelvin
  6. Hi Jason, I'm from neath, so i guess thats not really west wales. But thank you all the same. Kelvin

  8. Hello All, Well what can I say, thanks to everyone who has every posted on this site. I have spent the last coupple of hours reading through some good posts. I am relatively new to course fishing and really need some help. I spent the last 6-8 years sea fishing. Since I bought a house last year I have not had the time to go sea fishing (fishing gone quite poor anyway) and as a result I have restarted course fishing. So my first questions are, does anyone who fishes the south wales area read these forums? I primary fish canals, and was wondering what I should be targeting this time of year, is it to early to target tench? Thanks, Kelvin
